Valle de Bravo!

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

We have been skying out in Valle everyday for the last week, this year seems to be much better then last year with almost everyday having sweet clouds.

I got to cloudbase at 11,700  two days ago.

A german pilot threw his reserve in fornt of El Penon that same day and collided three times on the rock face before coming to rest in some trees about 1/3 of the way up. Joracio made a 6 hr rescue of the pilot who was uninjured.

The norwaygos showed up here in mid December the earliest ever and of course they already had one reserve toss which was Geir who was stationed in Albuquerque for two years.

Today i flew tandem with Camron from Durango as he sprained his ankle landing his HG the day before. We had a nice flight but struggled to get high over launch and then finally as we glided over the back with other gliders we just did not hit anything worth turning in. The pilots who went for the penon and wall had better flights but some of them still struggled to get back to Valle.

I drove down to valle on the 11th of Dec and we had no problems crossing the border or thruout our 1,200 mile journey.

Everything here in Valle is chill, there is lots of preps for the upcoming world cup super final.

There were about 40 pilots at launch today.

more juicy details soon,

El Cuervo.
